What do you mean by “Adult Only”? Due to our insurance policy, and the terms of our agreement with Willow House Caravan Park, our site is for 18’s and over only – there can be no exceptions to this rule.
What time is Check-in open? Check-in is from 13:00hrs – we generally run an unmanned check-in system, so you can arrive at any time after that as long as your booking is pre paid. Please read the information email sent when you booked for details regarding the check-in system.
What time do we need to vacate our pods by? We ask that you depart by 10am, so that we have time to prepare the pods for the next arrivals.
Can I check-in early or check-out late? There may be the option to do this, depending on the day and if you pod is in use again that night, please contact us to ask – there is a fee of £5 for early or late check-in.
Do I have to pre-pay for my booking? Yes, all bookings will have a deposit or pre-payment of some kind taken at the time of booking – without it bookings are not confirmed – and any balance is automatically taken 14 days prior to your arrival date. The cancellation fee up to 3 days prior to your stay is 50% and after that it will be the full rate. Group bookings will have a non refundable deposit to pay as per the Group T&C’s – please see the Group Booking information page for more info.
Can I bring my pet? Yes, we have 4 units that you can bring pets to, but these DO NOT INCLUDE the Yurt, Cabin or Gypsy Caravan. All pets must be kept on a lead at all times, and they must not be left unattended in the Pods at any time. We ask that pets do not go in or on the beds.
Can I get to you by Public Transport? Yes, the Reliance Bus stops at the end of the drive. We do not recommend walking down our road – it’s very dangerous. The Reliance Bus service will take dogs too. We do have a pet Taxi company too, who do a special rate form York to here and vice versa – Getaway Cars 01904 707070, they also allow dogs in some of their taxis.
What should we bring with us? You will need a gaz stove if you want to cook on site – We have some you can hie if you don’t have one of your own. We also have 2-3 BBQ’s on site for you to use, but you will need your own coals for these. You could of course take advantage of the Farm Shop or Two Jays Catering or the many amazing places to eat in York!
You will need your own crockery and cutlery (including mugs and glasses), and of course pans!
You will need your own towels (don’t forget your wash bag too!)
A torch or lantern may come in handy for late night trips to the loo!
We don’t provide any beverages or food, although The Farm Shop does a takeaway service for breakfast & lunch.
A cool bag or box might be a good idea too if you have one, although there are Fridges on site for you to use.
Something to contain water – we have a water tap onsite, but you will need something to store water in for use in cooking etc. There is a kettle in each pod, so you could use this if you didn’t want much water.
Other things that might be important…
Tin opener, Bottle opener, Corkscrew, Insect repellent, MP3 player, A good book, Phone charger, Guide book, Sun cream – well it is Yorkshire after all! An umbrella – well it is Yorkshire after all!
No need to bring these items…
An air-bed – we provide a lovely bed with all the linen and a scrumptious duvet! A kettle, deckchair – we provide outdoor seating too!
Do you take group bookings? Yes we do, although we are quite select about the groups we take and limit groups to one a month. The Little Hide is a place to relax, and as it is close to the Caravan Site we have to think of those guests too. Group Bookings fill up very quickly.
Can we have an extra bed in the pod? In short the answer is no, the pods simply are not big enough.
Can we BBQ? Yes, we have dedicated BBQ plates on each pod deck, so you don’t set fire to the pods, and we have communal BBQ’s too. You must provide coals and fire lighters however.
Can we bring a fire pit? We would rather that you use ours, as they are in special areas, and do not set fire to the grass like the ab-lib ones do :) Logs and fire lighters are on sale from the Farm Shop during opening hours.
Do we have to bring bedding? No, just towels. All bedding is provided. It’s lush feather bedding, but we can provide allergy free pillows if required, although we do not have any allergy free duvets.
Is there a TV in the pod? No, but you can bring your own – or any electrical equipment as there is a double socket per pod. Electric is limited to 13amps per unit however, so overloading the sockets will cause your electric to trip.
Is there WiFi / decent telephone reception? There is no WiFi at the pods, only in the Farm Shop. As far as we are aware there is good reception on all providers, certainly O2, Vodafone & EE.
Is there somewhere undercover we can use? Yes, we have a wooden structure known as “The Den” which is situated next to the Fridge Shack (for easy access to cold beers!) and has seating, lighting and a table (of sorts!) for you to use.
Do we have to pay for showers? No, the shower/toilet block near the pods is all free to use. There is also a shower/toilet block near reception, which is free to use too, but is a bit of a trek in your PJ’s!.
Is there a Noise Restriction / Lights out? Not really a lights out policy, but we ask that you are respectful of the other people staying on site and bear in mind the Site Warden has the right to ask you to quieten down or leave. We understand that everyone has different ways of relaxing, but we have to be fair to everyone. We feel that 11pm is a pretty fair time to ask you to stop playing music and quieten down, so please adhere to this. We also have to ask that the Den is vacated by midnight to allow those staying in the Cabin to sleep. This is mandatory.
Do you do Gift Vouchers? Yes we do – see our special offer page for details!
